International Amadeus Piano Competition (IAPC) 2024

Art. 1

The Accademia Amadeus, in cooperation with Comune di Lazise, announces the Fourth Edition of the Amadeus Competition 2024, a contest dedicated to pianists coming from all over the world and of any nationality, which is structured into two sections:

The 4th International Amadeus Piano Competition (IAPC) will take place from 09 to 14 April 2024 in Lazise (VR), Italy at Dogana Veneta (Piazzetta Partenio 13).

All auditions are public and free.

The organization has the right to make changes or integrations to the present regulation.

Art. 2

The application implies the unconditioned acceptation of the present regulation. The candidate through the application authorises the Association Accademia Amadeus – according to art. 97 of the Law about the copyright – to make audio-visual recordings about someone’s performance and broadcast on all platforms of the Association or connected to it and to publish photos on promotional material of the Association or exhibit on occasion of future events. In relation to this the candidates cannot advance any right or financial reward to Accademia Amadeus.

According to the art. 13 and 14 of GDPR – Regulation UE 2016/679 about copyright – the data provided on the application will be used exclusively to send information about the Competition excluding any other use.

The organization declines any responsibility for whatever damage to people and/or things of all kinds during the Competition.

Art. 3

The 4th International Amadeus Piano Competition (IAPC) 2024 is articulated into the following age categories:

Cat. Prime note: born after 2017; free program of max. 5 min.

Cat. A: born from 2014 to 2016; free program of max. 8 min.

Cat. B: born from 2011 to 2013; free program of max. 12 min.

Cat. C: born from 2007 to 2010; free program of max. 15 min.

Cat. D: born from 2002 to 2006; free program of max. 20 min.

Cat. E: born from 1997 to 2001; free program of max. 25 min.

Performance by memory is not requested.

All pieces must be published. Facilitated versions of the pieces are not allowed.

The candidates can apply to a higher category, but not to a lower one.

Art. 4

The application fees for the IAPC are the following:

Cat. Prime note € 35,00
Cat. A € 40,00
Cat. B € 45,00
Cat. C € 50,00
Cat. D € 60,00
Cat. E € 70,00

The registration fees refer to payment by bank transfer; in case of payment by PayPal a commission is added.

In case of cancellation by the candidate, due to any reason, the application fee will not be reimbursed.

In case of cancellation of one or more categories by the organization, whenever the number of applications is considered insufficient, the application fee will be reimbursed at 100%.

Art. 5

The double application to the 4th International Amadeus Piano Competition 2024 and Premio Amadeus 2024 is allowed.

The First Prize Assoluto winners of each category of the previous editions must apply for one of the superior categories.

All candidates who have or have had any constant teaching relationships with one or more members of the jury in the last two years prior to the start of the competition are not allowed to apply for the Amadeus Competition 2024.

Art. 6

The award ceremony of the First Prize Assoluto winners of all categories, the winner of Premio Amadeus and the Special Prizes will take place on Sunday, April 14 at 5.30pm at Dogana Veneta in Lazise on occasion of the winners' concert. On that occasion the jury will announce the Winner of the Amadeus Competition 2024.

The non-participation to the winners concert implies the renunciation to the prize.

The award ceremony of First, Second and Third Prizes of the 4th International Amadeus Piano Competition will be held at the end of the auditions of each category.

Art. 7

The jury is made up of internationally acclaimed musicians.

The jury has the right to stop the performance so far as it exceeds the established time.

The jury has the right not to award prizes and scholarships to contestants who do not reach the required artistic level for that prize.

The jury’s judgement is unquestionable and irrevocable.

Art. 8

The contestants will perform in alphabetical order starting from the letter drawn by lot, announced after the closing date of application.

The calendar of the rehearsals and auditions will be published on the Competition web page. Each candidate is required to personally inquire about the timetables.

Art. 9

The contestants will have the possibility to try the piano of the competition according to the rehearsal schedule that will be published on the website a few days before the beginning of the Competition.

The organization will also provide practice spaces with acoustic and digital pianos.

Art. 10

All travel and accomodation expenses are at the contestants’ charge.
